Waverly came tearing into Saturday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.5 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Tioga Tigers. That's more bragging rights for the Wolverines, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Waverly's win bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Tioga, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Waverly didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 21-9 victory against Sidney on the 11th. As for Tioga, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 16-3 loss against Union Springs on the 12th.
