After flying high against Park City on Friday, Tooele came back down to earth. The Buffaloes fell just short of the Cyprus Pirates by a score of 7-6 on Monday. The Buffaloes' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Olivia Nelson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Tooele's record now sits at 10-12. As for Cyprus, their record is now 12-9.

Coming up, Tooele will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Stansbury at 3:30 p.m. The Buffaloes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stallions have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Cyprus, they are taking a road trip to square off against West Field at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Longhorns will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight.
