Baseball Game Preview: Centerville Elks vs. Springboro Panthers

The Centerville Elks will venture away from home to face off against the Springboro Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Centerville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 19 games.

Centerville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Ohio's top teams: Troy, who was ranked 13th at the time (Centerville was ranked third). The Elks were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Trojans on Wednesday. Considering the Elks have won 14 games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between Springboro and Badin, and Badin kept the tradition alive. The Panthers fell 4-1 to the Rams on Thursday.

Centerville's win bumped their record up to 22-2. As for Springboro, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.

Centerville beat Springboro 4-1 when the teams last played on Friday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Elks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
