Football Recap: UMS-Wright Prep Comes Up Short

After soaring to 34 points the game before, UMS-Wright Prep was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a blow against the Williamson Lions, falling 40-10. The matchup marked the Bulldogs' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Max Fowler threw for 114 yards and one touchdown. Richard Scott was his top target, picking up 54 receiving yards.

Williamson was led to victory by Todrick Withers and Alvin Dinkins. Withers rushed for 136 yards and a pair of TDs, while Dinkins threw for 153 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave Dinkins a new career-high in rushing yards (36).

UMS-Wright Prep suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 4-3. As for Williamson, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. UMS-Wright Prep will welcome Elberta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Williamson, they will square off against Vigor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lions will need to watch out since the Wolves have now posted at least 31 points in their last six games.
