Tri-County recap October 1, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Nick Lincoln and Billy Lincoln connected against Smith Academy/Smith Vo-Tech. The connection was good for 56 yards, the longest such play in Tri-County this season.
Stephen Reynolds of Mohawk Trail Regional ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against Palmer last week. Reynolds' team beat the Panthers as he sprinted for 68 yards on the play and finished with 122 in all.
Kyle Laffey was a passing and rushing force as Franklin County Tech beat Pathfinder RVT.
Lincoln was the best receiver in the league this week as McCann Tech bested Smith Academy/Smith Vo-Tech.
On the heels of CJ Daignault and Laffey, the Eagles have had great success on offense. Daignault is tops in the league in passing with 222 yards, while Laffey has rushed for 502 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is the Hornets' Lincoln, with 84 yards on 3 catches.
A big matchup in Tri-County this week will be when Mohawk Trail Regional takes on Pioneer Valley Regional. As it stands, Doug McCloud's team is in third, while the Panthers are in second.
Franklin County Tech scaled the state rankings by moving to 199 from 248 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Joseph Gamache's team was able to move up by topping the Pioneers 35-6.
