Amarillo is a perfect 7-0 against Plainview since February of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Sandies will head out to square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Amarillo has four straight victories, Plainview has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Amarillo's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Coronado as they made off with a 10-0 win. Amarillo might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Plainview fell victim to Monterey and their airtight defense on Wednesday. They came up short against the Plainsmen, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Plainview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 713th, while Monterey are ranked 268th).

Plainview's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Amarillo, their victory bumped their record up to 15-1-1.

Amarillo got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in January against Plainview by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Sandies since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
