Softball Recap: Gilbert Christian Comes Up Short

Gilbert Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 19-3 to the Bourgade Catholic Golden Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 23-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2021.

Gilbert Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adelyn Colelli, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Gilbert Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Bourgade Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilbert Christian will host Benjamin Franklin at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Gilbert Christian is facing Benjamin Franklin at the right time seeing as Benjamin Franklin is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Bourgade Catholic, they will take on Tonopah Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bourgade Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season.
