Football Recap: Declo Takes a Loss

Declo entered their game against American Falls on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Hornets were dealt a 43-14 loss at the hands of the Beavers. The Hornets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Beavers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2017.

When it comes to explaining why Declo lost, don't look at Landen Silcock. Despite the final result, he picked up 83 receiving yards and two scores.

Zakary Grigg was his usual excellent self, rushing for 179 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 118 yards and one TD for American Falls. Grigg's longest rush was for an incredible 77 yards. Brian Lopez helped out on the ground, rushing for 117 yards and a rushing touchdown.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 5-4. As for American Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.

Declo and American Falls are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Hornets will be playing in front of their home fans against New Plymouth at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for American Falls, they will host Bonners Ferry on Saturday. The Badgers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Beavers surely won't give up without a fight.
