Football Recap: Houston Comes Up Short

If Houston was riding high fresh off their 55-0 takedown of Cabool last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers took a blow against the Thayer Bobcats on Friday, falling 55-12. The Tigers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-6.

Although Houston took the loss, they still got scores from Dj Riley and Caden Guerra.

Thayer was led to victory by Thomas Poole and Dawson Harris. Poole rushed for 143 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries, while Harris rushed for 81 yards and two TDs on only seven carries.

Houston's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Thayer, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.

Coming up, Houston will face off against Ava at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Thayer, they will challenge Cabool at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats are facing the Bulldogs at the right time seeing as the Bulldogs are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
