The Sherman Tide will take on the Mingo Central Miners at 5:30  p.m.  on Thursday. Sherman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4  runs per game  this season.
Sherman made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Capital, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Sherman blew past Capital 13-3 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Tide, who have now won three games by eight  runs or more  so far this season.
 Luke Tagliente made a splash while hitting and pitching. He  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Tagliente was even better at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances. He also put up two  RBI, which were his first of the season.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Colby Atkins, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.  Brady Perdue was another key player,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with three  RBI.
 Sherman  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .649. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Mingo Central was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight  defeat. They were a single  run away from ending the streak, but they lost  a   6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of WestSide. One positive for the Miners, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.
  Aaron Blankenship was cooking despite his team's loss,   going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run, three  runs,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  he has posted since back in April of 2024.
 Sherman now  has a winning record of 3-2. As for Mingo Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5-1.
