Basketball Preview: North Penn-Liberty Mountie vs. Williamson Warriors
North Penn-Liberty is 9-1 against the Warriors since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The North Penn-Liberty Mountie's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Williamson Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. North Penn-Liberty has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
You can't lose the match if you win every quarter, and that was precisely North Penn-Liberty's strategy against the Warriors on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that North Penn-Liberty blew the Warriors out of the water with a 64-36 final score. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point North Penn-Liberty had established a 21 point advantage.
North Penn-Liberty's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Daniel Harman, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds, and Adynn Wheeland, who scored 16 points along with five assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Harman has scored all season. Louis Mercantino was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Williamson can finally bid farewell to their 21-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game last Saturday. They came out on top against Northern Potter by a score of 69-61. The victory was just what Williamson needed coming off of a 80-53 loss in their prior contest.
North Penn-Liberty's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-9. As for Williamson, their victory ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-9.
North Penn-Liberty was able to grind out a solid win over the Warriors in their previous meeting back in January, winning 60-52. The rematch might be a little tougher for North Penn-Liberty since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
