Bryan County and Screven County are an even 3-3 against one another since November of 2015, but not for long. The Redskins will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Gamecocks at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Bryan County will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up 12 points last Friday, then bounced right back against Claxton on Friday. The Redskins breezed past the Tigers to the tune of 42-7. That looming 42-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Redskins yet this season.

Meanwhile, Screven County put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 35-14 margin over Jenkins County. Fans of the Gamecocks have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Bryan County better focus on containing AB Hilton and Demarko Ward as the pair were huge in Screven County's win. Hilton rushed for 188 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, while Ward rushed for 78 yards and three scores. Ward really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Screven County's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Breylon Daniels and Azlan Courtney, who each picked up 0.5 sacks apiece.

Bryan County's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Screven County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Anddreas McKinny and Hilton. McKinny just won't slow down this season and has run in 7 touchdowns while averaging 105.8 rushing yards per game. Hilton has been a dominant force too and has run in 9 touchdowns while averaging 148.8 rushing yards per game.

Bryan County strolled past Screven County in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a score of 28-14. Will the Redskins repeat their success, or do the Gamecocks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
