Basketball Game Preview: Putnam Clippers vs. Plainfield Panthers

The Putnam Clippers will venture away from home to square off against the Plainfield Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Putnam and three for Plainfield.

Last Friday, Putnam ended up a good deal behind St. Bernard and lost 40-24.

Meanwhile, Plainfield had to suffer through a 59-25 loss at the hands of Woodstock Academy. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while the Centaurs are ranked 14th).

Plainfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Putnam, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.

Putnam suffered a grim 50-24 defeat to Plainfield when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Putnam avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
