Basketball Game Preview: Punahou Buff n' Blue vs. Long Island Lutheran Crusaders

The Punahou Buff n' Blue will square off against the Long Island Lutheran Crusaders at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Punahou is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Hawaii's top teams: Konawaena, who was ranked fourth at the time (Punahou was ranked eighth). Punahou fell to Konawaena 54-48. The Buff n' Blue haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jayde Eldredge Sagapolutele, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Saole Pua, who had 13 points.

Meanwhile, Long Island Lutheran was fully in charge on Saturday, breezing past Paul VI 78-44. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Crusaders.

Punahou's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Long Island Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
