Football Game Preview: Pitman Panthers vs. Gateway Regional Gators

Pitman has gone a perfect 3-0 against Gateway Regional recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Gators at 7:00 p.m.

Pitman is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Maple Shade just ended the team's four-game winning streak two weeks ago. They came up short against the Wildcats, falling 32-9. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Gateway Regional got the win against Mastery on Friday by a conclusive 40-20. The result was nothing new for the Gators, who have now won four matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.

Gateway Regional's win came from a few key players Pitman will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dj Binck, who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 33 yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Lamar Smith, who rushed for 109 yards and one score on only five carries.

Gateway Regional was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 313 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Gateway Regional didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaxon Bailey and Aidan Barbato. Gateway Regional received some extra help from Mike Graham, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

The win made it two in a row for Gateway Regional and bumps their season record up to 5-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.5 points over those games. As for Pitman, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Everything came up roses for Pitman against Gateway Regional in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 44-0 win. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Gators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
