Powdersville barely beat Carolina Academy the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Powdersville Patriots' defense stepped up to hand the Carolina Academy Trojans a 9-0 shutout on Thursday. Give the Patriots' defense some credit: that's the team's sixth straight shutout.

Their offense was hitting Carolina Academy from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Nathan Rostro led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Powdersville's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Carolina Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Coming up, Powdersville will take on T.L. Hanna at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Powdersville is facing T.L. Hanna at the right time seeing as T.L. Hanna is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Carolina Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on St. Joseph's Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on March 24th. Carolina Academy has given up an average of 4 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
