Pierce County extended their winning streak to seven on Friday, bumping them up to 7-0. They were the clear victors by a 34-13 margin over the Cook Hornets. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won five matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Pierce County was led to victory by Jaeveon Williams and Drake Dowling. Williams rushed for 199 yards and two TDs while picking up 8.7 yards per carry, while Dowling rushed for 143 yards while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Those 199 rushing yards gave Williams a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chance Williams, who picked up 30 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Pierce County was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 342 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cook only rushed for 165.

As for Cook, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. Having soared to a lofty 38 points in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

Cook's loss came despite strong showings from Dawson Davis and Mj Tippins. Davis rushed for 116 yards and one touchdown, while Tippins rushed for 40 yards. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: Davis posted at least 102 rushing yards in the third games prior.

Pierce County will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Crisp County at 7:30 p.m. on the 17th. As for Cook, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 31-21 victory against Tattnall County on the 10th.
