Recap: Gaston Bulldogs vs. Sand Rock Wildcats
The Gaston Bulldogs lost against the Sand Rock Wildcats back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Gaston was beaten by Sand Rock 62-18. While losing is never fun, Gaston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 381st, while Sand Rock is ranked 69th).
It was another big night for Katelyn St.Clair, who scored 25 points along with four steals for Sand Rock. The contest was St.Clair's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Zoey Handy was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Gaston and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Sand Rock, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Gaston will be home for the holidays to greet Fyffe at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sand Rock, they will head out on the road to face off against Coosa Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
