Baseball Recap: Bogue Chitto Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Bogue Chitto and North Forrest squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Bogue Chitto had to settle for second. They fell 13-9 to the Eagles. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Manny Conerly put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only four hits, the fewest he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, Tucker Kyzar was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Bogue Chitto's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2 (and 9-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Warren Wallace, who went 3-for-4 with one RBI.

Bogue Chitto's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for North Forrest, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-8.

Bogue Chitto does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for North Forrest, they will challenge Pisgah on Friday. The Dragons' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
