Baseball Recap: North Posey Comes Up Short

North Posey's last matchup with Castle could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's contest on Monday. The Vikings lost 17-7 to the Knights.

Grant Cullamn and Remington Johnson did some serious damage despite the final result: Cullamn went 2-for-4 with four RBI, while Johnson got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs. Johnson is becoming a predictor of North Posey's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 8-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Freeman, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double.

North Posey has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11 record this season. As for Castle, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.

Coming up, North Posey will challenge Forest Park at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Castle, they will be playing at home against Evansville Memorial at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Knights surely won't give up without a fight.
