Softball Recap: Northwest Area Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

Northwest Area won the last time they faced Millville and things went their way on Wednesday too. Northwest Area put the hurt on Millville with a sharp 19-0 win. The game marked the Rangers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Natalia Ninotti made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Ninotti was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Ava Ruckle was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with five RBI and three runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Callie Moyer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Northwest Area kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in nine consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Northwest Area pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Millville, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coincidentally, Northwest Area and Millville will both be playing Sullivan County the next time they take the field. Northwest Area will head out to face Sullivan County at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while Millville will host them at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
