Softball Game Preview: St. Anthony Saints vs. Paraclete Spirits

St. Anthony is 0-4 against Paraclete since February of 2024 but things could change on Thursday. The Saints are taking a road trip to face off against the Spirits at 3:15 p.m. St. Anthony has given up an average of 14.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

St. Anthony is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 13th straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They came up short against Saint Joseph, falling 15-5. On the bright side, the five- run performance marked the Saints' highest-scoring game to date.

Meanwhile, Paraclete entered their contest against Bishop Amat on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Spirits took an 18-13 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (11), the Spirits still had to take the loss.

Paraclete's loss dropped their record down to 17-2-1. As for St. Anthony, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

St. Anthony might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from Paraclete in their previous matchup on Monday. Can the Saints avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
