Volleyball Recap: St. John Paul II's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

St. John Paul II waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came out on top against Calvary Chapel Academy by a score of 3-1. This was a revenge game for the Lions: when they faced off against Calvary Chapel Academy back in September, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

St. John Paul II had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 14-25, 25-20, 25-13, 25-17.

Caitlin McGrail paced St. John Paul II's offense, picking up 11 kills. McGrail got some help from Zlata Alioshka and her 26 assists. Alioshka was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

St. John Paul II's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-3.

Coming up, St. John Paul II will challenge Falmouth at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Rising Tide on Friday.
