Baseball Recap: Dallastown Victorious

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Dallastown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They skirted past the South Western Mustangs 4-3. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 1-0 victory the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Austin Santiago looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Dallastown let Logan Kessler and Caden Snyder run wild. Kessler scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Snyder scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave Snyder a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Flincbaugh, who scored two runs and stole a base.

Dallastown's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for South Western, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Dallastown will take on rival Northeastern at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, South Western is set to face off against their familiar foe Spring Grove at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
