Basketball Recap: Canistota Takes a Loss

Canistota was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Freeman Flyers 60-28. The Hawks were down 43-22 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Freeman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rylee Peters, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Peters' evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Cadence Hofer was another key player, going 7 of 12 on her way to 16 points and six boards.

Canistota's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Freeman, they pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canistota and McCook Central/Montrose will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. As for Freeman, they will take on Avon at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Freeman is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.1 points per game this season.
