Basketball Recap: Newport Central Catholic Takes a Loss

Newport Central Catholic lost against Highlands back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds took a hard 71-53 fall against the Highlands Bluebirds.

Newport Central Catholic has also traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-17 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Highlands and bumps their season record up to 18-11.

Newport Central Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Highlands, they will square off against Newport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Newport knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Highlands likes a good challenge.
