Recap: Pelham Panthers vs. Springville Tigers
The Pelham Panthers won the last time they faced the Springville Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Pelham walked away with a 54-47 victory over Springville. Given Pelham's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Springville is ranked 131st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Pelham's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Karma Wynn, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Wynn has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tee King, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Pelham has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-9 record this season. As for Springville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-12.
Pelham will head out on the road to face off against Helena at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Helena focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday. As for Springville, they will be playing at home against Corner at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
