Baseball Recap: Sandy Valley Cardinals vs. Minerva Lions
Sandy Valley had lost five straight on the road, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 2-8 to make it six. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 6-4 to the Minerva Lions, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Cardinals were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.
As for Minerva, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-4. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 1.5 runs across that stretch.
