Softball Game Preview: St. Croix Central Panthers vs. Baldwin-Woodville Blackhawks

St. Croix Central hasn't had much luck against Baldwin-Woodville recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will face off against the Blackhawks at 5:00 p.m. St. Croix Central will be strutting in after a win while Baldwin-Woodville will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, St. Croix Central turned things around against Amery on Monday. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 13-0 victory. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Panthers this season.

Baldwin-Woodville couldn't beat Prescott on Monday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Blackhawks fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Blackhawks have suffered since May 23, 2024.

St. Croix Central's win bumped their record up to 3-9. As for Baldwin-Woodville, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-3.

St. Croix Central couldn't quite finish off Baldwin-Woodville in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 5-3. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
