Volleyball Recap: Eastlake Titans vs. Del Norte Nighthawks
Eastlake and Del Norte squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Eastlake had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Nighthawks by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Nighthawks this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-1 loss back in April.
In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Eastlake sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 15-25, 15-12.
Nathan Turman had a dynamite game For Del Norte., getting 12 digs and three aces. Those 12 digs gave Turman a new career-high.
Eastlake's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-14. As for Del Norte, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-18.
Eastlake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Del Norte, they will venture away from home to challenge St. Augustine at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Saints will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Nighthawks surely won't give up without a fight.
