Baseball Recap: Ponte Vedra Comes Up Short

Ponte Vedra fell victim to First Coast and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Buccaneers by a score of 2-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Sharks were not able to get on the board.

Ponte Vedra saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Madox Tepper, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Tepper has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

With the loss, Ponte Vedra broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-9. As for First Coast, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Coincidentally, Ponte Vedra and First Coast will both be playing Mandarin the next time they take the field. The Sharks will host the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Buccaneers will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
