Baseball Recap: Saint Francis Wins Going Away Against Lincoln

After losing to Lincoln the last time they met, Saint Francis decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Saint Francis Lancers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Lincoln Trojans 3-1. The game marked the Lancers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Landon Kim spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up eight Ks. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jack Leeper, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Gino Cappellazzo, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Saint Francis and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lincoln, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saint Francis will face off against Mountain View at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln, they will host Pitman at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
