Basketball Recap: Berwick Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Brandon Ventura and Noah Daniel

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Bulldogs on Friday. The Berwick Academy Bulldogs took a 77-61 bruising from the Bancroft Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Berwick Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 71-57 two weeks ago.

Noah Daniel and Brandon Ventura certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Daniel dropped a triple-double on 23 points, ten rebounds, and 11 assists, while Ventura dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards. That was a full 37.7% of Berwick Academy's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kavery Daniel, who earned nine points.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Berwick Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Berwick Academy dropped their record down to 6-12 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Bancroft, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Berwick Academy will host Hebron Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bancroft, they will be playing at home against The Williams School at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
