Basketball Recap: Miami's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Miami proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 34) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged the Leading Edge Academy - GEC Spartans out 57-54. The victory was nothing new for the Vandals as they're now sitting on four straight.

Miami's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Raejon Way, who posted 25 points and four steals. That's the most points Way has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Deray Mathis, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

Miami smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 27 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Miami's victory bumped their record up to 15-8. As for Leading Edge Academy - GEC, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Miami will welcome Pima at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Miami is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.4 points per game this season. As for Leading Edge Academy - GEC, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against San Tan Charter at 7:00 p.m. San Tan Charter will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Leading Edge Academy - GEC surely won't give up without a fight.
