            Denver West dropped to 5-3 on Thursday, ending the team's seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. The  matchup between the Cowboys and the Denver North Vikings didn't end well, with the Cowboys falling  24-6. Having soared to a lofty 40  points in the game before, the Cowboys couldn't push the score so high this time.
As for Denver North, the  win was  the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2. Those  victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 1.2 points on average over those games.
 A big part of Denver North's  win came down to the chemistry between  Lea Gentry and her top target  Felicity Tomberg. Gentry threw for 60 yards and a pair of  touchdowns while  Tomberg picked up 56 receiving yards and two  scores. The dominant performance also gave  Gentry a new career-high in  passer rating (125).
