Softball Game Preview: Scituate Spartans vs. South Kingstown Rebels

The Scituate Spartans will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the South Kingstown Rebels at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Scituate managed to slip by West Warwick the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Spartans lost 15-2 to the Wizards on Wednesday.

Scituate saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Maggiacomo, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for South Kingstown's offense. They came up short against Westerly on Thursday, falling 12-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

South Kingstown's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Scituate, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Scituate beat South Kingstown 6-3 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
