Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Mccool Junction's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

McCool Junction had won four straight home games and Carson Mcdonald did his part to make it five on Tuesday. The McCool Junction Mustangs walked away with a 69-62 win over the East Butler Tigers thanks in part to Mcdonald, who went 12 for 21 on his way to 30 points and five assists. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Strope, who posted eight points. He is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games.

McCool Junction is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.6 points per game. As for East Butler, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 17-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McCool Junction will take on Nebraska Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. East Butler has already played their next game (against High Plains), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
