Softball Recap: Kelliher/Northome Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Kelliher/Northome had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Warroad Warriors 11-3. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Mustangs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

The team relied heavily on Kylee Binkley, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Kate Thayer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Warroad's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Kelliher/Northome will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley at 4:30 p.m. on the 28th. As for Warroad, they will face off against Roseau at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
