Volleyball Recap: New Caney Takes a Loss

New Caney lost against The Woodlands back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles came up short against the Highlanders, falling 3-0.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16, 25-12.

The Woodlands got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ava Gibbs out in front who had 15 digs and six assists. Gibbs has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 35 times she's played. Reese Depoy was another key player, getting eight digs and two aces.

New Caney has been struggling recently as they've lost 18 of their last 22 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-24 record this season. As for The Woodlands, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-18.

New Caney has already played their next match (against Cleveland), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for The Woodlands, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Conroe on the 21st.
