Recap: Humphreys County Cowboys vs. Mooreville Troopers
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Humphreys County Cowboys can now relate to. They fell 27-20 to Mooreville on Friday. Humphreys County's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why Humphreys County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ollizous Brent. Despite the final result, he rushed for 142 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Brent's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards.
Brody Thompson was the offensive standout of the game as he threw for 186 yards and three touchdowns. Eli Hussey was another key contributor, picking up 44 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Humphreys County's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Mooreville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-3.
Humphreys County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mooreville will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Amanda Elzy at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Amanda Elzy will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
