Recap: Hillsborough Terriers vs. Freedom Patriots
Make it nine blowout wins for the Hillsborough Terriers this season. They breezed by Freedom at home to the tune of 73-22. With Hillsborough ahead 48-14 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Hillsborough got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jojo Cruz-Smartt out in front who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Ellayna Stephens, who scored 16 points.
Hillsborough has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Freedom, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hillsborough will take on Plant City at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Plant City will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 593rd, while Hillsborough is ranked 215th). As for Freedom, Freedom and Riverview will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
