Basketball Game Preview: Hutchison Hawks vs. Valdez Buccaneers

Hutchison is 1-9 against Valdez since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hutchison Hawks will take on the Valdez Buccaneers at 5:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Fans were treated to a Battle of the Hawks on Saturday. Hutchison had just enough and edged Galena out 60-58. Hutchison hasn't had any issues with Galena recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Valdez suffered their biggest defeat since March 21, 2024 on Saturday. They were beaten by Lathrop 84-57. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hutchison's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Valdez, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Hutchison ended up a good deal behind Valdez in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, losing 60-44. Can Hutchison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
