Baseball Recap: Dolores Takes a Loss

Dolores was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 12-3 to Non Varsity Opponent. The Bears were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Non Varsity Opponent earlier this season, when they won 12-3.

Dolores saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gus Vaughn, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Levi Hampton was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Dolores' defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Coming up, Dolores will square off against Nucla at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mustangs have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-5 win against Homer on the 11th.
