Basketball Recap: Brown County Comes Up Short

Brown County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 62-54 to the Calhoun Warriors. The matchup was a 25-25 toss-up at halftime, but the Hornets couldn't quite close it out.

Brown County's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Calhoun, their victory bumped their record up to 8-2.

Brown County and Calhoun should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Hornets will face off against Greenfield/Northwestern at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (179 vs. 480). Meanwhile, Calhoun (ranked 109th) will meet Gillespie (ranked 713th) at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
