Basketball Recap: Central Christian Drops Season-High Score on Lafayette Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central Christian). They blew past the Lafayette Christian Cougars 108-38 on Thursday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 58-20.

Central Christian was led to victory by Rocky Steidinger and Avery Steidinger. Rocky dropped a double-double on 27 points and 20 rebounds, while Avery went 12 of 17 on his way to 30 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. Rocky is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down 11 or more in the last 20 games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Carper, who went 6 for 11 en route to 14 points along with seven assists and six steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Central Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since the start of last season.

The win made it two in a row for Central Christian and bumps their season record up to 5-8. As for Lafayette Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Central Christian will take on Konos Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Konos Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.6 points per game this season. As for Lafayette Christian, they and Skipstone Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
