Recap: Littleton Lions vs. Green Mountain Rams
The Littleton Lions were the 59-38 winner over the Green Mountain Rams when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Littleton fell to Green Mountain 48-43. Littleton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Littleton's loss on Friday came despite strong showings from Penny Urquhart and Jacy Chandler. Urquhart dropped a double-double on 21 points and 18 rebounds, while Chandler scored 13 points along with three steals. That was a full 48.8% of Littleton's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Samantha Hernandez Tobon was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Green Mountain's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Herrig, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Evans, who scored 11 points.
Littleton's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-8. As for Green Mountain, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Littleton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Heritage at 1:00 p.m. on January 20th. Heritage is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Green Mountain, they will head out on the road to face off against Pomona at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
