Basketball Game Preview: Dublin Fighting Irish vs. Washington County Golden Hawks

Dublin hasn't had much luck against Washington County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Dublin Fighting Irish will be playing at home against the Washington County Golden Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Saturday, Dublin came up short against Dodge County and fell 54-45. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Irish can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Indians are ranked 175th).

Meanwhile, Washington County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a hard 49-34 fall against Baldwin.

Dublin will need focus on slowing down Jade Kitchens, one of several Washington County players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmya Gamble, who scored eight points.

Dublin's loss dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Washington County, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.

Dublin suffered a grim 58-33 defeat to Washington County in their previous meeting back in January. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Dublin was down 37-13.
