Basketball Game Preview: Discovery Titans vs. Duluth Wildcats

Discovery and Duluth are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2020, but not for long. The Discovery Titans will face off against the Duluth Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

Discovery is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Calhoun just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to the Yellow Jackets. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Titans came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 293rd).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Duluth duked it out withStarr's Mill on Monday. Duluth walked away with a 57-45 win over Starr's Mill. 57 seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Duluth has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for Discovery, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.

Discovery couldn't quite finish off Duluth in their previous matchup back in February and fell 50-47. Can Discovery avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
