Basketball Recap: Block Island Piles Up the Points Against Achievement First Providence

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Block Island). They claimed a resounding 48-16 win over the Achievement First Providence Falcons. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Block Island found their leader in freshman ELIZABETH EVANS, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 11 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points EVANS has scored all season. ABIGAIL WILLI was another key player, going 5 of 12 on her way to 10 points in addition to eight rebounds and seven assists.

Block Island was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 3-7. As for Achievement First Providence, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Block Island has already played their next match, a 50-32 loss against Davies Career & Tech on the 7th. As for Achievement First Providence, they will head out on the road to face off against Woonsocket at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Achievement First Providence is facing Woonsocket at the right time seeing as Woonsocket is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
