Recap: Francis W. Parker Colonels vs. Lisle Lions
The Francis W. Parker Colonels lost against the Lisle Lions back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Francis W. Parker was dealt a 74-39 defeat at the hands of Lisle. While losing is never fun, Francis W. Parker can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 614th, while Lisle is ranked 286th).
Anna Swanson and Quinn Kass certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Swanson scored 15 points, while Kass scored seven points along with five rebounds. The match was Swanson's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Francis W. Parker bumped their record down to 2-9 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.8 points per game. As for Lisle, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season.
Francis W. Parker and Chicago Christian will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 4, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Lisle, they will play host again and welcome Wilmington, where tip off is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Wilmington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Wednesday.
